I have a habit of applying cooking oil to hinges of doors of pastor’s houses, church doors and doors of buildings where training is done. Most of Learning Technologies basic computer trainings for the last five years have been held either in the church building or a central building of a particular church or organization.

I have developed this habit to the extent that I actually listen for that squeaking sound!

Elsie Manato is one of the participants that discovered the potential of a computer during this training. She said she has seen and used a computer before but never discovered its true worth until the team took them through the basics of Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel programs. Her first priority now is to get a computer to use for ministry because she now has the knowledge she lacked before.

This training was answered prayer for Rev. Ewana Zacharias of United Church in Kainantu when an invitation from Pastor Peter to attend the basic computer training was given to him. He had a new laptop computer but was using it only on “first gear”.

He added that this training is educational and even though it is only two weeks, I have learned enough to manage my work (MS Word), my sermons can be seen and heard with greater chances of impact (MS PPP) and good and accurate record of congregation members and their Spiritual growth and needs, proper record of tithes and offerings and proper presentation of Church finances (MS Excel)

We thank you all for your prayers and support for this successful basic computer training which involved all four of our Learning Technologies staff. This training involved good team work and safe travel by road.

As trainers for this first basic computer training for this year we give glory to God for the host church (Foursquare) to promote the spirit of unity among the members of the Body of Christ in Kainantu by extending the training to other church denominations.
