MAF Technologies’ (formerly CRMF) ongoing commitments to COVID-19 awareness in PNG

by | Apr 22, 2021 | HF Radio, What MAF Technologies (formerly CRMF) Does

Accurate information is vital everywhere and every time for informed decisions and daily undertakings, and this certainly is the case in the light of the new and ever evolving challenges imposed by covid-19 outbreak in Papua New Guinea.

As would be expected, apart from bringing our nation to a lock-down with its impacts on business and service delivery, unknowns and mixed messaging brought about by COVID-19 coverage has raised fear, anxiety, and confusion in PNG communities in general. These negative impacts are felt no less in majority of those in the country’s rural communities, who due to limited access to media and valid sources of information often rely on hearsay.

An overwhelmingly positive response and feed-back was received from these communities during the broadcast. Based on this CRMF has now pushed to give regular updates each week to provide new information and developments as they come.

Questions on what this disease is, the virus that causes it and new emerging strains of this virus, its treatments including vaccines are current hot news that require correct and factual information.

Our recent broadcast this week focused on a response shared by a panel of experts at a recent forum held in Port Moresby to address miss-information by the public about a recently introduced covid-19 vaccine. CRMF is committed to ensuring that our people are informed on these developments.

Information has the power to influence and in times like this we pray that the knowledge and wisdom of God will guide the hearts of our people to discern what information is true and what is not.

Going forward the organization will endeavour to ensure that facts and helpful messages reaches our rural majority.

Let our prayer be: “Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?” (1 Kings 3:9). All knowledge and understanding comes from the Lord, (James 3:17).
