Having a good signal enables the remote community of Kapal to receive service

Recently In 2020, CRMF technician, Gollinson Wena traveled with the Rural Airstrip Agency (RAA) team who charted a MAF flight to Kapal, a remote community located in the Western Province of Papua New Guinea. The purpose for this trip was to carry out a full radio install at the Evangelical Church of PNG (ECPNG).

The community there had coverage for mobile network but the signal is usually low making it difficult to communicate through their mobile devices especially during medical emergencies. To gain access to the nearest medical services or other government services, would take them 2 days walking by foot and crossing several rivers by boat. Their newly installed radio makes it convenient for them to easily access the services they need from their nearest MAF station at Kawito.
We thank MAF and the Evangelical Church of PNG (ECPNG) for sponsoring the HF Radio to be installed at Kapal. The radio is so reliable that it provides a good coverage and signal for the Community and ECPNG Church to have access to the services they need.
