Well Informed to Inform Others

Senior Scientists from PNGIMR, Dagwin Suarkia and Valentine Siba
A recent visit was made to Christian Radio Missionary Fellowship by two Senior Scientists from the Papua New Guinea Institute of Medical Research (PNGIMR), Dagwin Suarkia and Valentine Siba.
The main purpose for the visit was to raise awareness on COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccines. This came at the request from the CRMF Management mostly to address confusion and anxiety caused by mixed messages among our communities.
The presentation and questions and answers session that followed was very informative. Following the session, the CRMF General Manager, Bryan Mathews expressed his appreciation to the team from IMR for taking the time to share the facts and findings of the COIVD research and developments and also the excellent work PNGIMR is doing with other stakeholders to monitor movement of this virus in the country.

Bryan Mathews added that since the majority of our remote rural communities rely on CRMF to share COVID-19 information we needed to be well informed ourselves so that information relayed to our rural communities within Papua New Guinea are correct and well founded.

We appreciate the partnership and opportunity that we can have with PNGIMR in providing this service to our unreachable majority. We look forward to having the IMR team join us in the near future to do a live broadcast and have a question-and-answer session with our remote communities within Papua New Guinea.
