A MAF ministry team spent a week touring the Sandaun, East Sepik, and Madang provinces to learn more about the challenges that church leaders face in their communities and to offer help.

For many pastors it was a chance to renew old connections with MAF and to learn more about the work of MAF Technologies, formerly known as Christian Radio Missionary Fellowship (CRMF).

Judith Charles, a local midwife at Telefomin Rural Hospital, knows that babies can arrive at any time of the day of night – and her job is so much harder when the lights go out.

During the hours of darkness, the rural health workers and patients rely on the glow of mobile phones torches.

But a team from MAF Technologies has been able to provide a consistent power supply that will help the hospital to keep the lights on until a permanent solution is put in place.

Leaders share isolation struggle with MAF

Mission Aviation Fellowship is exploring options to bring help, hope, and healing to the Autonomous Region of Bougainville – an isolated collection of islands and atolls between the Papua New Guinea mainland and the Solomon Islands.

The region, known by the acronym AROB, is emerging from a brutal civil war and secessionist conflict that ran from 1988 to 1997. A peace agreement was brokered in 2000 and, after an overwhelming vote for independence in 2019, Bougainville is working towards independence sometime between 2025 and 2027.
