What MAF Technologies Does: (Part 2) WIFIBible

by | Feb 9, 2018

MAF Technologies’ (formerly CRMF) tagline: “Bringing Help, Hope and Healing through Aviation and Technology.” One of our goals as a ministry is to create appropriate technological solutions to share the gospel. The WIFIBible is a small wireless device that does just that. What is a WIFIBible Device? It is a small device that sends out  Wi-Fi signal that anyone within the range of the device can access the signal and connect to it.

What makes this device special? You can access and connect to it for FREE! It doesn’t cost any credit or need no data to connect.

The WIFIBible contains many different Christian resources that can help people in their Christian life. It contains gospel music, the Bible in 200+ Papua New Guinean languages, the Jesus film, evangelistic materials, videos,  and Bible apps. How does this device help the people of PNG?

The WIFIBible on the Bus

The WIFIBible is installed on some of the PMV (Public Motor Vehicle) buses which travel on the Highway between Lae – Madang – Mt. Hagen. The buses that are equipped with the WIFIBible device can be recognized by the WIFIBible stickers on the front and the sides of the bus. The passengers traveling on the Highway bus can access the resources while traveling to and from their destinations!

The WIFIBible on the Plane

MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) planes in Papua New Guinea are equipped with the WIFIBible devices. As MAF serves some of the most remote areas in PNG, even the isolated people will benefit from the WIFIBible. The device on the plane is battery powered and is switched on by the pilot while the cargo is off-loaded at an airstrip in the remote areas.

The WIFIBible in the Bush

We have now developed a solar-powered WIFIBible that can run on its own in the remote areas. It can be setup at a pastor’s house, at a church building, or anywhere that is has no connection to a power grid.

The WIFIBIble at Schools:

We’ve install a WIFIBible device at the Goroka  Secondary School. The principal of the school discussed with us his concern of the students viewing negative and destructive material on their phones and that he wanted to offer them a better alternative.

Now the students can access and download Christian contents and have it on their phone to share it with their friends and families.

The WIFIBible is also located at different churches and bookstores in and around Goroka town. To learn more about the WIFIBible, you can visit our website.
